We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve those in Elk Grove and the greater Sacramento area and delighted to have the chance to educate and show those with hearing loss, as well as their family members, why choosing us is the best decision.
Our experience as hearing healthcare providers has allowed us to anticipate the needs of our patients as well as many of the questions initially asked. We have created our business model using lessons we have learned throughout our careers to be tailor-fit to best serve our patients. This approach is what makes us unique in the Elk Grove area.
Evaluation
Before a recommendation for treatment can be made, a thorough hearing evaluation must be performed. Some types of hearing loss can be treated by physicians through surgical techniques or medications, others can benefit from the use of hearing aids and some may require more aggressive treatment through the use of cochlear implants.
At Elk Grove Hearing Care, we fully evaluate each patient’s hearing abilities using comprehensive audiometry, tympanometry, speech-in-noise testing and real-ear measures. We always use the most up-to-date equipment, ensuring we are achieving the most accurate measurements. Following an analysis of the results, we will recommend the next step.
Device Fitting
If hearing aids are recommended, you can be sure you will only be fitted with the most recent technology from only top-tier, major manufacturers. We are not restricted to any one manufacturer and therefore will only recommend what we feel is the best fit for each patient.
Follow-up Care
We cannot stress enough the importance of follow-up care. After many years of living with untreated hearing loss, people typically develop a deficit. Their auditory system and brain cannot handle being immediately stimulated with the full amount of sound required to hear their best. Because of this, hearing devices are not turned up to their recommended levels on the first day. In fact, it usually takes four to six weeks for the brain to fully adapt to hearing new sounds.
This is why we want to see our patients back every two weeks for the first month or two, until this adaptation process has been achieved. Following this, it is vital that you return for biannual appointments. At these visits, we clean your devices and check to make sure they are functioning properly. We will also test your hearing every year so adjustments can be made to the programming of your hearing aids. All follow-up appointments, as well as any additional visits, are included with the purchase of your hearing aids.
Over the years, we learned that the key to patient success comes from the development of long-term relationships. We are certain that you will find success and happiness with the world of sound our providers help you unlock at Elk Grove Hearing Care. We look forward to meeting you and invite you to stop by anytime to learn more about what we have to offer.
