Lyric by Phonak is the world’s only 100 percent invisible hearing aid that delivers clear, natural sound. It is meant to be worn 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for up to four months at a time. You do not need to take it out, even thorough daily activities such as showering, exercising and sleeping.
How is Lyric different from other hearing aids?
Unlike traditional hearing aids that capture and process sounds outside of the ear, Lyric is different. Lyric uses the natural anatomy of your ear to amplify and give you a full, natural listening experience.
Where is a Lyric aid placed?
Lyric is placed deep in the ear canal, a mere 4mm from the eardrum. This makes it the world’s only 100 percent invisible hearing aid.
How Does Lyric Work?
Lyric works by relying on the outer ear’s natural anatomy to direct sound to the device, which is then amplified and sends to the eardrum. This allows for improved directionality and localization (the ability to tell where sounds are coming from) and sound that is clear and natural. Its deep placement minimizes the occlusion effect and reduces feedback.
Won’t moisture affect it?
A special coating technology protects the device from moisture and earwax. Lyric devices fit securely and comfortably and won’t slip around thanks to soft foam seals that conform to the contours of the ear canal. Ninety-four percent of Lyric users rate the comfort as better than their previous hearing aids, and 86 percent report “very natural” sound quality.
How often do I need to replace it?
It is sold on a subscription basis; when the built-in battery is exhausted, a Lyric-trained audiologist or hearing professional will fit you with a new device during a simple in-office procedure.
